About Mihinthalaya Rajamaha Viharaya
Mihintale is one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Sri Lanka, located a short distance from the ancient city of Anuradhapura. It is believed to be the place where Buddhism was first introduced to the island in the 3rd century BCE when Arahat Mahinda met King Devanampiya Tissa.
