About Thuparamaya
Thuparamaya is the oldest stupa in Sri Lanka and one of the most sacred monuments in the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Built by King Devanampiya Tissa in the 3rd century BCE, it enshrines the right collarbone relic of the Buddha and marks the introduction of Buddhism to the island.
